The sensor measures the leaf wetness continuously, which is a measure of dampness of the environment and this information helps to make sure the environment where plants or crops are grown is free from fungal or bacterial growth. The sensor is mostly used in AWS units for observations and prediction of fungal or bacterial infection which occurs in plants/crops.

Automatic Weather Station (AWS)
The system consists of Data Synthesizing Hub, Sensors and Solar based power supply. The system is wirelessly connected by GSM based GPRS communication network.
The Data Synthesizing Hub transmits the recorded data to a server and the sensors are connected to the Data Synthesizing Hub using cables directly from the sensor.
The sensor can be used for long periods in hostile weather conditions, without maintenance. Special filters are provided to keep the sensor free from dust and water splash.
